Precision Deck Builders is a locally owned and operated deck building company based in Austin, TX. We have been designing and building custom decks for Austin homeowners since October 2012. In the more than 13 years since we started, we have completed hundreds of projects across Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, Lakeway, Bee Cave, Leander, and West Lake Hills.

Deck construction, repair, replacement, and staining are all we do. Why We Exist
We started Precision Deck Builders because we saw too many Austin homeowners getting decks that were not built for the conditions here. Footings that were too shallow for clay soil. Materials that could not handle Texas UV. Skipped permits. Construction shortcuts that looked fine on day one but started failing within a few years. Homeowners deserved better, and the Austin market needed builders who understood what this specific climate and geography require.
That belief has guided every decision we have made for 13 years. We invest in proper soil assessment and footing engineering because we have seen what happens when that step is skipped. How We Work
Property-First Design
Every project starts with a free on-site visit where we spend meaningful time on your property rather than just taking quick measurements and leaving. We do not design decks from a catalog or apply template plans that were created for a different market. We assess your lot’s terrain, soil type, drainage, sun exposure, tree coverage, and how the deck will connect to your home’s architecture. The design comes from the property itself, not from a standardized menu of options.
Honest Assessments
We tell homeowners what their property actually needs, not what generates the largest project scope. When repair makes more sense than replacement, we say so. When a simpler design is the better choice, we recommend it. When a material is not right for the specific conditions, we steer homeowners toward a better option. Our goal is to build the right deck for each situation, and sometimes that means recommending less rather than more.
Our Own Crew, Start to Finish
We do not subcontract our deck work. The crew that assesses your property and designs your deck is the same crew that engineers the footings, builds the frame, installs the surface, and completes the finishing details. There is no handoff between companies, no communication gap between design and construction, and no loss of context between project phases. The people who know your project best are the ones doing the work at every stage.
Insurance and Permits
We are fully insured with general liability coverage that protects your property throughout the construction process. We coordinate all building permits through trusted partners and manage the inspection process at each required construction phase. These are not optional extras or add-on services. They are standard practices that protect homeowners and ensure the finished deck meets all applicable code requirements. Any builder who suggests skipping permits or cannot produce current proof of insurance is a builder you should not hire.
What We Build
We provide four core services. Deck installation for new custom builds from design through finishing. Deck repair for fixing structural and surface issues on existing decks. Deck replacement for complete tear-out and rebuild when repair is no longer practical. Deck staining for protecting wood surfaces from Austin’s UV and moisture exposure.
We build with composite decking from Trex, TimberTech, and Fiberon, as well as cedar, pressure-treated lumber, and exotic hardwoods. We have developed footing-engineering instincts calibrated specifically for Austin’s clay soil because we have dealt with it on hundreds of properties across the metro area. We have refined our construction process to be faster, more efficient, and more reliable with every project we complete.
